Lynn Hicks, a beloved member of the Hereford community, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, after a short illness. Lynn, remembered for her big heart and willingness to help others, faced numerous personal challenges in recent years, including the loss of her mother, two heart attacks, and a stroke that required seven months of rehabilitation. Despite these hardships, Lynn showed remarkable resilience, making a full recovery.
Sadly, her passing has left her five children in a difficult situation. Lynn was admitted to Hereford Hospital with stomach pains, where doctors discovered an abscess on her spleen. She had also contracted sepsis, leading to major organ failure. In the midst of these challenges, Lynn’s husband of 18 years left her, and the family home is now being sold, putting her children at risk of homelessness. The children are currently being placed into emergency care.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by Helen Parkinson to help cover the funeral expenses and ease the financial burden on Lynn’s children. So far, £70 has been raised out of a £5,500 goal, thanks to the generous donations from the community.
On Facebook, Tamara Jordan Mckee expressed her condolences, highlighting the community’s support during this difficult time. Many others have also shared their thoughts and prayers, showing the impact Lynn had on those around her.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lynn Hicks. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this challenging time. May Lynn’s soul rest in peace, and may her children find the strength and support they need.
