Originally from Baltimore, Mark spent parts of his youth in Elyria and Lorain, Ohio. A graduate of Dennison University with a major in Economics and Math, he pursued various roles in hospitality, CSX Transportation, and as a Corrections Officer in Baltimore before discovering his passion in counseling. Most recently, he served as a Counselor and Legal Liaison at Samaritan Daytop Village, helping individuals in need of support through drug and alcohol treatment programs. He had spoken of plans to expand his education and pursue a private counseling practice, driven by his commitment to empowering others.
The loss of Mark is deeply felt not only by Reggie but also by friends and community members. Brian Davis Lyles, a longtime friend of Reg, shared, "My good friend Reg Harris has had a rough time lately. He recently faced the loss of his partner Mark Costes of 36 years."
