Marlo Danielle Barela Parson, Arroyo Grande, CA— Marlo Danielle Barela Parson has passed away after a brave two-year battle with an aggressive form of uterine cancer. She was 52 years old. Marlo was a proud member of the Piro-Manso-Tiwa Tribe of Guadalupe Pueblo and a loving mother to her three adult children: Anthony, Maranda, and Jeremy. She was also a cherished grandmother to two beloved grandchildren.
In her final days, Marlo had been receiving hospice care for nearly 40 days, 100 miles away from the California apartment she shared with her youngest son, Jeremy. Her family, deeply affected by this loss, is currently facing significant financial burdens, particularly in arranging for her burial and memorial services.
To honor her memory, a fundraiser has been established by her daughter, Brooke Lopez, on behalf of Marlo’s son, Anthony Barela. The funds raised will assist with funeral expenses, food, lodging, and transportation support during this difficult time. As of now, the campaign has raised $125 of its $15,000 goal, thanks to donations from Rosita Bustamante and Theresa Fischer.
The community has shown overwhelming support for Marlo’s family through kind messages and donations. The family is grateful for the generosity and prayers offered during this heart-wrenching time. Marlo’s legacy of kindness and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Marlo’s children, grandchildren, and all those mourning her loss. May she rest in peace.
