Marta Elizabeth Pufahl, Lebanon, TN— Marta Elizabeth Pufahl recently passed away in Mexico, leaving her family and friends in deep sorrow. Marta battled addiction throughout her life, but she remained a bright light to those around her, known for her warmth, kindness, and ability to connect with anyone she met. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her loved ones.
Chelsea Carpenter, Marta’s sister, has organized a fundraiser titled Bringing Marta’s Memories Home: A Final Journey to help with the expenses of retrieving Marta’s belongings from Mexico and bringing her home. Chelsea, who has recently left the military and is currently unemployed, expressed the emotional and financial challenges that have emerged due to the circumstances of Marta’s passing. Marta held a special place in her heart for children with special needs, having earned a master’s degree in special education from Vanderbilt. Chelsea hopes to continue Marta’s legacy by donating any unused funds to "Marta’s Heart-Special Education" to support special education programs in their local community.
Contributions have started to come in, with Amy Costley making the top donation of $200, followed by Ross List and Carla Croom, who each contributed $50. The outpouring of support for Marta’s memory reflects the love she inspired in others.
