Mary Jodi Fuentes, Fountain Inn, SC— Mary Jodi Fuentes passed away a year ago on July 23rd, and her family is still struggling to cope with the loss. Mary, lovingly known as Jodi, moved to North Carolina to help her daughter escape an abusive relationship. She was diagnosed with liver cancer and succumbed to the disease within six months due to complications from psoriasis, which prevented her from receiving treatment.
C’estLaVie Wisowaty, Mary’s daughter, has been planning to take her mother’s ashes back to New Jersey, where Mary wished to be laid to rest. Unfortunately, financial constraints have made this trip impossible so far. C’estLaVie, along with her two children, has faced many obstacles, including a recent $600 truck repair that further delayed their plans.
Mary’s death has been a significant emotional burden on C’estLaVie and her children, who have also lost their stepmother two years prior. The family has not been able to hold a funeral service for Mary due to the lack of life insurance or savings.
To fulfill her mother’s last wish and bring some closure to her family, C’estLaVie has started a fundraiser titled "Bring Peace to Mary Fuentes’ Family." As of now, $30 has been raised from a single donation by Michele Baker, against a goal of $1,000.
C’estLaVie expressed the importance of this trip, not just for honoring her mother but also for her children’s emotional well-being. They have endured significant loss and need the closure that this trip can provide.
The family is reaching out for help from the community to raise the necessary funds to finally bring Mary Jodi Fuentes back to her favorite place in New Jersey.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Mary Jodi Fuentes’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
