Mathew Kyler Lee, Mount Clemens, MI—Mathew Kyler Lee, a 16-year-old from Mount Clemens, tragically passed away on November 9, 2024, after being struck by a drunk driver while out for a walk. Mathew, who had just celebrated his 16th birthday on October 24, 2024, was rushed to Hurley Hospital of Flint, MI, where he remained on life support. Despite efforts to save him, the extent of his injuries was too severe, and Mathew passed away.
In accordance with his family’s wishes, Mathew is giving the gift of life through organ donation. His parents, Andrew and Laura, have made the difficult decision to honor their son’s legacy by allowing his organs to help others. His mother, Laura, has expressed a desire to provide Mathew with a proper funeral and burial so that the family can visit and remember him.
Mathew leaves behind three brothers and a community that deeply feels his loss. With the unexpected tragedy happening just before the holidays, his family is facing significant financial strain. A fundraiser has been set up by Mark C to assist with funeral expenses. The community has already shown their support, with generous donations from individuals such as Michael Howard, Kailynn Veryser, Nicole Handlon, Chuck Strozeski, and Frances Kostun.
We extend our deepest condolences to Mathew’s family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this heartbreaking time.
