Matthew Tafoya, Lake Havasu City, AZ—The community is heartbroken over the recent passing of Matthew Tafoya on August 2, 2024. Known for his big heart and infectious laughter, Matthew was a cherished friend and family member whose loss is deeply felt by those who knew him.
Jonathan Thurston, one of Matthew’s closest friends, expressed his sorrow on Facebook: "Woke up to some devastating news today. Already miss you man, lost a true friend. Never known anyone with such a big heart as yours. You helped me through a lot and never stopped laughing at stupid shit with me no matter what it was. The nonsense always made sense in our heads. Now I’ve got no one to catch from tipping over constantly and I’ll miss that. Love you brother and you better be chillin in your chonies when I get there with your damn pizzas! Get some rest finally."
To help with the unexpected expenses and funeral costs, Ashley Lockwood has organized a GoFundMe campaign. Ashley, the girlfriend of Matthew’s best friend Jonathan, shared, "My boyfriend Jonathan’s best friend Matthew Tafoya unexpectedly passed away on August 2, 2024. There are still many unanswered questions. I’m asking for everyone to please at least share this GoFundMe, donate if they can, anything helps to try to take some of the financial burden off his mother Tricka in this time to help her with unexpected expenses and ultimately funeral costs, as well as for support for his daughter Emma."
As of today, the goal of the fundraiser is set at $50,000, and the community is urged to donate or share the campaign to help the family during this difficult time.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Matthew Tafoya’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
