Mike Johnstone, Hamilton, ON— The community mourns the loss of Mike Johnstone, who passed away on October 13, 2024, after complications following surgery to remove a brain tumor. Mike, a devoted father, fiancé, and veteran, had been battling health issues when a rare benign brain tumor was discovered earlier this month.
On the morning of October 5, Mike was scheduled for a CT scan, which led to the discovery of the tumor. Despite the efforts of the medical team at Mississauga Trillium hospital, complications arose after surgery, resulting in severe brain damage and multiple strokes. Despite fighting bravely, Mike passed away surrounded by his loved ones.
Mike leaves behind his fiancée Nicole, and their two young children, Jamison (11) and Sophie (3). He was a dedicated family man and a proud veteran who served in the British Army. His parents Jamie and Diane, sister Heather, brother Patrick, and his niece and nephews Aria, Raine, and Quinton are all grieving this tremendous loss.
In response to Mike’s passing, a fundraiser has been organized by Natalie Augerinos to support the family through this incredibly difficult time. The community is invited to contribute and help ease the financial burden on the family.
Mike’s sudden passing has left his loved ones in shock, but they are holding onto the memories of his love, dedication, and service. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mike Johnstone’s family and friends. May they find strength and peace during this tragic time.
