Mildred Ann Cottrell, fondly known as Missy, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the age of 52. The Rochester, MN, community is mourning the loss of a beloved former nurse and caregiver who dedicated over 20 years of her life to nursing, where she served as both an RN and director of nursing.
Missy was known for her kindness, compassion, and dedication to her patients. She was working towards completing her nurse practitioner license but had to pause due to her declining health. Beyond her professional life, she was a loving partner to Paul Tesdahl, with whom she shared 16 years of her life. Paul, who has been battling his own health issues and awaiting a disability appeal, is now left with the burden of managing everyday expenses and funeral costs. A fundraiser organized by Kerry Kysylyczyn has been set up to help Paul with living expenses, funeral costs, and the purchase of a headstone.
Missy’s passing comes just over a year after the tragic loss of their daughter Adrianna in June 2023 at the age of 16, and their beloved dog Princess, who passed just one week before Missy. Friends and family take solace in the belief that Adrianna and Princess were there to welcome Missy into heaven.
Missy leaves behind her partner Paul and two children, Jerod and Kylissa. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially for her fun-loving spirit, warm hugs, and passion for caring for others.
