Patricia Gail Miller, lovingly known as Patty Lynn by many, passed away peacefully on September 1st, 2024, just before 1pm. Born on January 31st, 1960, in Pagosa Springs, Patty Lynn was a beloved figure in her community. Known for her kindness, humor, and the ability to befriend anyone she met, she was a true representative of Pagosa Springs and the vibrant spirit of its people.
Patty Lynn’s early years were full of adventure and joy. She was an avid horse rider, participating in barrel races at the county fair, and even had the opportunity to meet John Wayne during the filming of The Cowboys. She worked in her parents’ diner, The Dairy Cream, and later took on roles such as a veterinary assistant, a newspaper delivery person for the Denver Post, and a courier for Kangaroo Express. Her life was full of stories and accomplishments that reflected her dedication and love for her community.
One of her proudest roles was being a mother to Chris Miller, Nick Miller, Savannah Huizar, and Raelynn Huizar, as well as a grandmother to Mya, Olivia, Lillian, and Freja. Patty will be remembered for her warm hugs, her bright spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her.
A memorial service in honor of Patty Lynn will be held at Pagosa Bible Church on October 5th at 1pm. The family asks that attendees wear tye-dye, animal prints, or colorful shirts, reflecting Patty’s desire for people to celebrate the life she lived rather than mourn her absence.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Patty Lynn’s family and friends during this difficult time. May her memory continue to bring warmth and comfort to all who knew her.
