He grew up in the Buckeye Road neighborhood alongside his siblings Nancy, George, and Raymond. After graduating from Benedictine High School, Paul briefly attended John Carroll University before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served in Korea with the 1st Cavalry Division, eventually attaining the rank of sergeant.
After his honorable discharge, Paul built a career as a mechanic and enjoyed working on race cars during the golden era of America’s Hot Rod culture. It was through his work at Republic Steel that he met Linda, the love of his life, who worked there as a supervisor. Together, they raised three sons: Edward, John, and James, in their Parma home.
