Phuong To Huynh, Cary, NC— The community mourns the passing of Phuong To Huynh, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 25, 2024, after a courageous battle with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. Phuong was 52 years old and is remembered for her grace, love, and unwavering brightness throughout her life.
Born in Vietnam in 1972, Phuong moved to the United States in 1980, where she made a remarkable life for herself. She grew up in Florida, where she met her soulmate, Lance Schado, and later pursued her passion for science by earning a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Phuong’s dedication to helping others led to a successful career in pharmacokinetics research at Pfizer in Groton, CT, and later with GlaxoSmithKline in Cary, NC.
Phuong was not only an accomplished professional but also a loving wife and mother. She and Lance were blessed with two children, Thanh and Mai, completing their circle of love. Her family remembers her as a radiant soul, whose smile brightened the lives of everyone she touched. She found joy in nurturing orchids and fruit trees and often enjoyed watching hummingbirds fluttering gracefully in her garden.
Phuong’s journey in life also deepened her faith in Jesus Christ, offering her strength and hope throughout her battle with cancer. While her passing brings immense sorrow, her family and friends take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, embraced by God’s love.
Phuong leaves behind her devoted husband Lance, children Thanh and Mai, father Hui Van Huynh, mother Hai Thi Ly, and siblings Lien, Winnie, and Phuong Dinh. A service to honor her life will be held at Hope Community Church in Raleigh, NC.
In lieu of flowers, a fundraiser has been organized by her sister Winnie Huynh to support the family during this difficult time. Contributions to the fund will help with expenses and serve as a tribute to the beautiful legacy Phuong has left behind.
