Raymond Ray Lexia Jr., affectionately known as "Ray Ray," passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, in a tragic automobile accident while on his way home from work in Fourth Ward, Livingston Parish. The news of his passing has left the community heartbroken, as he was deeply cherished by all who knew him.
Ray had worked as an Engineer Tech with the Louisiana Department of Transportation for 20 years, a role he performed with dedication and excellence. Outside of his professional life, he was known for his love of the outdoors, often found hunting and fishing with his children, Carson and Camryn, or cheering Carson on at baseball games. A devoted husband and father, Ray’s world revolved around his family. He shared a deep bond with his "baby girl" Camryn and was known for his unwavering love for his wife, Joni, his high school sweetheart, to whom he had been married for 20 years.
Ray’s warmth, generosity, and incredible talent with tools touched the lives of many. His loss is deeply felt by his family and friends, who remember him for his big heart and the love he showed to everyone around him.
In memory of Ray Ray, a fundraiser has been organized by Dianne Cothern to support his grieving family during this difficult time. So far, $20 has been raised towards a goal of $5,000, with Clara Amerson being the first to contribute. The community is encouraged to come together to honor Ray’s legacy by showing the same kindness and support that he so freely gave in life.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lexia family. May Ray’s soul rest in peace, and may his family find strength and comfort in the love and memories they shared.
