Regina Martin, Cochranton, PA—Regina Martin, a former Pittsburgh Police officer and devoted advocate for animals, passed away on July 18th, leaving behind a legacy that has deeply touched her community and countless animals. After her retirement, Regina and her husband, David, founded Hog Heaven Rescue Farm (HHRF), a sanctuary that became a haven for hundreds of animals over the years.
Regina’s contributions extended beyond her local community, as she and David also collaborated with the Vet Tech Institute, offering future veterinarians invaluable hands-on experience with rescued animals. Her love for animals and dedication to providing care for those in need left a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
Her children, Justin and Xena, are now working tirelessly to manage her personal affairs and keep the rescue farm running, despite the emotional and financial challenges. To honor Regina’s life and continue her work, her son Justin has organized a fundraiser aimed at supporting the farm and covering various expenses, including a celebration of life planned for the spring of 2025.
As of today, $700 has been raised out of a $20,000 goal, with five donations contributing to the effort. The community’s support, including recent donations from Valerie Gannon, Cynthia Dimmick, Heather Hacherl, L Olienyk, and Justin Martin himself, is greatly appreciated as the family navigates these difficult times.
Regina’s memory will continue to live on through the animals she saved, the lives she touched, and the legacy of love and compassion she left behind.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to the Martin family. May Regina’s soul rest in peace, and may her family and friends find comfort in the legacy she leaves behind.
