Frisco City, AL—The family of Richard Lee Harris is mourning his passing and seeking financial assistance to cover his funeral costs. Richard Lee Harris passed away on July 21, 2024, at the age of 69 at his home in Frisco City, Alabama.
Richard was originally from New Jersey and had resided in Frisco City for the past 11 years. He had also previously lived in Titusville, Florida. Richard was a former employee of Standard Furniture and served his country as a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Richard are his son, Anthony Scott Harris, who resides in St. Petersburg, Florida, and his daughter, Amanda Harris, from East Brewton, Alabama. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Justin Harris, Makaya Smith, and Jasmine Smith, along with seven great-grandchildren.
A private family service is planned for a later date.
Rebecca Baggett, a family member, has organized a GoFundMe fundraiser to help cover the remaining funeral expenses. Richard’s son, Scott Harris, has only been able to pay $635.19 towards the total balance of $2,700, and the family is struggling to gather the remaining funds to lay Richard to rest.
As of today, September 12, 2024, no donations have been made yet, but any amount would be greatly appreciated by the family. The fundraiser remains active, and the family is hopeful that they will receive the necessary support to meet their goal.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Harris family during this difficult time. We hope they find the strength and support needed as they remember and honor Richard Lee Harris.
