Richard Thomas, Alexandria, VA – Community Remembers a Beloved Father and Friend

Richard Thomas, originally from Trinidad, passed away on October 1st, 2024. He was a cherished member of the Alexandria and Arlington communities, known for his warm smile, infectious laughter, and his love for telling “dad jokes.” His passing has left a void among family, friends, and all who knew him.

Throughout his life, Richard was a devoted father, brother, husband, cousin, uncle, and friend. Despite his demanding work schedule, Richard always made time for his children, proudly attending their soccer games, basketball games, and school concerts. His children were the center of his world, and he found great joy in watching them grow and achieve their goals.

Richard was also passionate about his hobbies. He enjoyed watching pick-up soccer games in Alexandria and Arlington, attending Caribbean carnivals in Baltimore during the summer, and visiting his home country, Trinidad, where he had dreams of retiring one day. His wish to return to Trinidad for his final resting place will be honored, as his family respects his desire to reconnect with his roots.

To celebrate Richard’s life and help fulfill his final wishes, a fundraiser has been organized by Nicolette Thomas. The goal is to gather support for his funeral and memorial arrangements, ensuring that Richard’s dream of resting in Trinidad becomes a reality.
