Robert Anthony Taber (Rob), Anderson, VIC— Robert Anthony Taber, affectionately known as Rob, passed away just days before Christmas at the age of 47. His family, including his twin brother Paul, older sister Margy, and younger brother Ray, are left devastated by his untimely passing. Rob’s wife, Julie, and his mother, Irene, also mourn the loss of a beloved husband and son.
Born with epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and an inoperable brain cyst, Rob’s life was marked by constant health challenges. Despite these, he was a fighter. After struggling with alcohol dependency, Rob had managed to turn his life around for four years before facing immense emotional challenges following the loss of his father, Bob, and stepfather, Frank, in recent years.
His passing has deeply affected his family, both emotionally and financially. With limited resources, they have launched a fundraiser to cover the costs of his funeral. As of now, they have raised $500 AUD towards their $5,000 goal. Donations from friends and community members have already poured in, with contributions from individuals like Katherine Davis, Alex King, Jeff Retzack, and others.
In light of their current situation, the family is hoping to find some assistance through superannuation or other means, but they remain uncertain about available funds. The funeral home has offered a payment plan, but only if half of the required funds can be paid upfront.
The love and generosity shown by the community has been a small comfort during this difficult time. The family is deeply appreciative of all the support received.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Taber family during this painful time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
