Robert Christopher Austin, affectionately known as Bobby, passed away on September 8, 2024, in Pittsburgh, PA, at the age of 50. Bobby, born on February 18, 1974, grew up in Pittsburgh, attending Seville Elementary and North Hills High School before earning his degree from Clarion University.
Bobby was known for his quick wit and love for bringing humor into any conversation, making those around him feel cherished and appreciated. His passion for the outdoors and mechanical work matched his big personality, and his absence will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Janet Austin, and his children: Kennedy, Carson, Connor, Matt, Aidan, and Becky. His memory will also live on through his grandchildren, Landon and Leeland, as well as his mother, Nancy Austin, sister Lori Baum, brother Ricky Austin, and other extended family members and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Walt Austin.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Furlong Funeral Home in Marienville, PA, from 12 pm to 2 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm, with a service following at 6 pm. The community will gather to honor Bobby’s life, reflecting on his loving spirit and all the joy he brought to others.
In lieu of flowers, a fundraiser has been established by Mandy Eyrich to support Bobby’s loved ones during this difficult time. The goal is to raise $5,000 to assist the family with expenses, and contributions are greatly appreciated.
