Robert Thomas Sr., Joshua Tree, CA—The community is mourning the loss of Robert Thomas Sr., who passed away on the morning of October 19, 2024, after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was 70 years old.
Robert was known for his strong, loving, and generous spirit, always willing to help those in need. As a veteran of both the Vietnam War and the National Coast Guard, he took pride in his military service and had a deep love for military planes and historical memorabilia from both World Wars. His family and friends remember him for his passion for fishing, NASCAR, football (being a Dolphins fan), and his love for classic rock, especially Led Zeppelin.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, four children, and his adopted family, including his daughter Birdee, who shared fond memories of him. Birdee described him as a loving father and a man who lived a fulfilling life full of love and care for those around him. His passing, although sudden, has left a deep impact on all who knew him.
In memory of Robert, a fundraiser has been started by Sheri Williams to assist with cremation costs. Due to financial difficulties faced by his family, any contributions are appreciated to help them bring him home and honor his memory.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Robert Thomas Sr. during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
