Ronda Jean Nee Mardis Calhoun, Pontiac, MI— The Pontiac community is heartbroken as they mourn the loss of Ronda Jean Nee Mardis Calhoun, who passed away on July 16, 2024. Born on May 12, 1969, Ronda was a beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, sister, and friend, remembered for her warmth and dedication to those around her.
Ronda is survived by her devoted husband, Tim Calhoun, and her stepchildren, Brittney Calhoun and Jordan Edmundson. She was a proud grandmother to Donovan and Jayda Graves. Ronda also leaves behind her siblings, Lurrie Cooper (Mike), Jimmy Mardis (Laura), and Vicky Keel, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles A. "Chaz" Van Bibber; her brother, Chris Mardis; her parents, Sheila R. Cox and James A. Mardis; her father-in-law, Robert Calhoun; and her niece, Jerri "Bear" Forshee.
Ronda’s professional journey saw her working as a Union Electrician and managing various bars and restaurants. Her passion for bartending made her a favorite among patrons and colleagues, a testament to her vibrant and engaging personality.
A fundraiser has been organized by Michelle Dean to support unexpected funeral expenses. The goal is set at $4,000, and donations can be made through the GoFundMe platform. The community is urged to contribute and assist Ronda’s family during this challenging time.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Ronda’s honor on August 1, 2024, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac Chapel, located at 46 Williams Street, Pontiac, MI 48341. Friends, family, and community members are invited to attend and pay their respects.
