Roy Rogers, Canton, NC— Roy Rogers has sadly passed away, leaving his family and friends heartbroken. His daughter, Rebecca Gage, has been at the center of a fundraising campaign to assist with the funeral costs for her father.
The family has faced several hardships this year, including the loss of a close friend and a challenging move from a comfortable home to a camper. In addition to these struggles, Roy did not have life insurance or funeral coverage, which has made it difficult for the family to afford the necessary arrangements. With the upcoming holiday season and other financial burdens, the Gage family has turned to their community for support.
Roy’s final wish was to be cremated, with some of his ashes spread on the Blue Ridge Parkway in a convertible. The fundraiser organized by Rebecca Gage aims to help with cremation and funeral services, as well as the existing medical costs.
The outpouring of support from the community is evident, with 12 donations totaling $640 raised so far. Notable contributions include a generous $200 donation from Nick Iannucci, and earlier donations from Megan McCraw and Clarissa McTaggart.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Gage family during this difficult time. May Roy Rogers’ memory live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
