Sacheena Shrestha, London, Ontario— Sacheena Shrestha, a 22-year-old Nepalese student at Fanshawe College, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, following a tragic accident earlier this month. Her untimely passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the community.
Sacheena was crossing the road at a zebra crossing on the evening of December 8, 2024, when she was struck by a pick-up truck. Despite the driver’s cooperation with authorities, Sacheena suffered severe head injuries, which led to swelling of the brain. Medical staff at Victoria Hospital worked tirelessly to stabilize her, but her condition remained critical. After her parents, Chiran Shrestha and his family, arrived from Nepal on December 25, Sacheena was removed from the ventilator and passed away the following day.
Known for her kindness, dedication, and radiant smile, Sacheena had a bright future ahead. She had come to Canada to pursue her dreams, and her loss has left everyone who knew her deeply devastated. A fundraiser has been created by Rahul Shrestha and Roshan Shrestha to help cover funeral and memorial service costs, as well as to support her parents during this difficult time.
Sacheena’s funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 11:30 AM at AMG Funeral Home in London, Ontario.
