Scott Cutting, Maryland—It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Scott Cutting, a beloved member of the animal rescue community. Scott was known for his dedication to moving over 47,000 sheltered pets, alongside his wife, Lynne, in their truck. This couple, affectionately known as Team Cutting, left an indelible mark on the East Coast animal rescue community.
On July 6, 2024, Scott and Lynne were involved in a tragic accident in Maryland. Scott spent 25 days in a coma but, sadly, never recovered. Lynne survived with several broken bones and underwent surgery. She is currently facing a long road to recovery, including extensive physical therapy.
Scott’s passing has left Lynne in a difficult situation, unable to continue the work they both dedicated their lives to. A fundraiser organized by William Hall aims to support Lynne and her beloved pets during this challenging time. The goal is to raise $30,000, and so far, $170 has been donated by three kind supporters: Roger Weinhold ($100), Taylor D’Entremont ($20), and Kimberly Pascale ($50).
The love Scott and Lynne shared for each other, their pets, and the community was evident to everyone who met them. Their efforts in rescuing and moving pets have had a profound impact, and Scott’s legacy will continue to inspire others.
We extend our deepest condolences to Lynne and all who knew and loved Scott. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time.
