Servando M. Monreal, Stockton, CA— The community mourns the loss of Servando M. Monreal, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 12, 2024, at the age of 59. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family at their home after a courageous battle with stage 4 cancer.
Born on April 12, 1965, in Santa Ana, Sonora, Mexico, Servando was the beloved son of Ramon and Herminia Monreal. A highly skilled cement mason and concrete finisher, he poured his heart into his craft, leaving behind an enduring legacy through his detailed and unique work. His own home stood as a testament to his incredible talent and dedication.
Servando was a man of faith, who leaned deeply on his spiritual beliefs and family throughout his health challenges. He was baptized in Jesus’ name on August 7, 2024, a moment that reflected his unwavering faith despite the hardships he faced.
Servando is survived by his devoted wife, Deyanira (Yanny), his children Carlos, Servando, Ricardo, and Deyanira, as well as grandchildren Evangelina, Ailani, Graciela, Servando Jr., Carlos, Izael, Julian, Mateo, and Gabriella. He is also survived by his sister Luly and brother Ramon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Hermelinda.
His warm spirit, hard-working nature, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family invites those who knew and loved Servando to join them in honoring his life. A visitation will take place on Friday, December 6th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Cherokee Memorial Park & Funeral Home, followed by a service from 5:30-7:30 PM. The burial will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Garden of Angels at Cherokee Memorial.
A fundraiser organized by Isael Ojeda, titled Honoring Servando Monreal’s Legacy, has raised $1,050 through the generosity of six donors, including Jizelle Ojeda, Humberto Rivera, and others.
