Despite efforts to revive him with Narcan, he could not be saved.
Sgt. Crenshaw, who served his country for 5 1/2 years, rose quickly through the ranks from Private to Staff Sergeant. His commitment and sacrifices were well-regarded, and his loss is felt deeply by his family and friends. He is survived by his ex-wife Carmelita Crenshaw, their two children, and four step-children.
Carmelita Crenshaw shared her grief on Facebook, expressing the profound loss she and her family feel: "In life, we have soul mates and one of mine has been ripped from my life forever. Justin Crenshaw, the father of two of my children. I’m left with a forever hole in my heart. It was too soon; this pain is unimaginable."
