Shannon was a loving wife to Keith Kirkendall and a devoted mother to their two children, Katelyn and Ryan. She was surrounded by family and loved ones in her final moments. Her legacy is one of warmth, dedication, and resilience. Throughout her life, Shannon made a lasting impact, especially in her roles as a teacher and community volunteer.
A graduate of Argonaut High School in 1996, Shannon excelled in both academics and sports, notably in basketball and softball. She continued her studies at California State University of Sacramento, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a teaching credential. Shannon moved to The Woodlands, Texas, with her husband in 2004, where they raised their family in the Houston suburb.
Shannon was a passionate "dance mom" and "scout mom," dedicating herself to her children’s activities while also caring for her pets and teaching at the pre-school and elementary levels. She touched the hearts of many young students, who benefitted from her enthusiasm and dedication to their growth.
In lieu of flowers, the Kirkendall family has requested donations in Shannon’s memory be made to the Mother’s Day Out program at Grace Presbyterian Church, a cause that was close to her heart.
