Sylvia J Lenoir, Picayune, MS— Sylvia J Lenoir passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2024, at the age of 67, surrounded by her loved ones at her home. Born on November 6, 1956, in Picayune, MS, Sylvia was a cherished daughter of Hilda Lenoir and James Mclemore.
Sylvia graduated from Picayune Memorial High School in 1974 and went on to earn her associate degree in college. She married Rolland Polk, with whom she had a beautiful daughter, Jennifer L. Schmidt. Sylvia dedicated her life to helping others, working tirelessly at the Health Department and through RLM and MANA ministries. Known for her selflessness, she was a beacon of support, providing financial, spiritual, and mental assistance to those in need.
Her deep faith and love for the Lord were evident in her daily life. Sylvia’s home was always open to many, and she was renowned for her cooking and passion for horse riding.
Sylvia is survived by her mother, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. The community will gather to celebrate her life at Resurrection Life Ministries, 795 Memorial Blvd, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 12:30 pm. A graveside ceremony will follow at 2 pm at Memorial Gardens.
