Teddy Croslyn, Grande Prairie — The community is deeply mourning the loss of Teddy Croslyn, a 5-year-old boy whose life was tragically cut short. Teddy passed away on July 6 following a devastating accident at the intersection of Hwy 43/Hwy 43X, west of Grande Prairie, when a truck collided with his family’s vehicle.
The accident not only claimed Teddy’s life but also left his father, Colton, seriously injured. Colton is currently at the U of A Hospital in Edmonton, awaiting spinal surgery while recovering from multiple broken bones and other severe injuries.
Teddy’s mother, Becky, is facing an overwhelming emotional and financial burden following this tragedy. A fundraiser organized by Justina Croslyn has been established to help cover funeral costs for Teddy and medical expenses for Colton. The campaign, "Help Honor a Young Life, an Injured Father & Grieving Mother," has so far raised $4,400 CAD out of its $50,000 goal through 65 donations.
The community has shown tremendous support for the Croslyn family. Recent donors include Dar Dube, who contributed $50, David Atchison, who made the top donation of $200, and Enid Chmelyk, who gave the first donation of $100.
Messages of condolences and support have poured in on Facebook, with heartfelt comments from friends and community members. Anthony Andrew Williams expressed his deepest sympathies, and Tatiana Yusupova shared, "Becky’s loss is unimaginable. My heart goes out to her and Colton during this incredibly difficult time."
The Grande Prairie community is coming together to support Becky and Colton, ensuring they are not alone in their grief. Teddy Croslyn will be remembered for the joy he brought to his family and all who knew him, and his memory will live on in their hearts.
