According to a heartfelt message shared by Vicci King-Barbee on social media, Teresa underwent a series of medical challenges before her passing. After recent scans showed no progression of cancer, multiple blood clots were discovered in her lungs, leading her to be hospitalized. Teresa was discharged on Friday, August 23, and seemed to be recovering well until she passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Vicci King-Barbee, who has organized a fundraiser in Teresa’s memory, is seeking contributions to help with funeral expenses and to support Teresa’s mother, who lived with her for over 30 years. As of today, $1,975 has been raised toward a goal of $10,000. The community has come together to support the family during this difficult time, with generous donations from individuals like Linda Jones, who contributed $500.
On Facebook, many have expressed their condolences and memories of Teresa. Troy Blystra simply wrote, "Prayers," while Teresa Rose West shared, “Teresa was and still is an inspiration to us all, to always fight.
