Teresa Cox, Oregon— Teresa Cox passed away recently after a sudden and devastating medical event. Her family has been left in shock and sorrow, particularly her son, Jason Simkins, who has been at her side during this incredibly difficult time.
On November 1, 2024, Jason received the heartbreaking news that his mother had suffered a cardiac event and was rushed to the hospital. Tragically, Teresa was without oxygen for an hour, leading to severe complications, including swelling and seizures. Despite doctors’ best efforts, including cooling her body and slowly warming her back up, the situation was dire. After further examination on November 4, it was confirmed that there was no brain activity. The family was prepared for end-of-life procedures, with the final confirmation expected on November 6. Teresa, who had always been a generous soul, was an organ donor, and her family hopes her passing will help others in need.
This unexpected loss has left Jason with the overwhelming responsibility of covering all funeral and end-of-life costs, as well as managing her estate. In an effort to alleviate some of this burden, a fundraiser has been organized by Leanne Barger, Teresa’s granddaughter’s mother, to assist with the financial strain during this difficult time.
Teresa is survived by her son Jason, her three grandchildren, Alyssa, Forest, and Slim, and her extended family, including her sister, aunts, and uncles. Her passing is a significant loss to all who knew her, and her family is focusing on honoring her legacy and supporting each other through this heart-wrenching time.
We offer our deepest condolences and prayers for Teresa, her family, and her loved ones during this challenging period.
