Teresa Dwornik, South Jersey— Teresa Dwornik passed away on October 5th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and love for nature. A proud Philadelphia native, Teresa spent over three decades residing in South Jersey, where she made a profound impact on those around her.
Teresa was a proud graduate of St. Maria Goretti Class of 1975 and went on to receive her nursing degree from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, followed by a bachelor’s degree from Immaculata University in 2016. She worked as a registered nurse with the Trinity Health PACE Program in Camden, NJ, where she advocated for underserved communities, particularly the elderly. Teresa’s passion for caring for others was evident in her work and her daily life.
Her love for the natural world was an essential part of who she was. Teresa would begin each day by admiring the sunrise during her run along Cooper River and end each evening in awe of the moon and stars. To honor her memory, a fundraiser has been established by Carolyn Redmond to place a bench in Cooper River Park, Camden County, where Teresa cherished spending time. The bench will serve as a place of reflection for those who wish to connect with nature, just as Teresa did.
The cost of the bench and plaque is $1,500, and any funds raised beyond the project’s cost will be donated to a charity selected by Teresa’s children. The initiative allows friends, family, and community members to remember Teresa’s spirit and her love for the beauty of nature.
Our hearts go out to Teresa’s family and friends. We are deeply saddened by her passing and send our thoughts and prayers to those who loved her.
