Timothy Gaffney, a beloved father figure and combat veteran, tragically passed away this past weekend in New Mexico. Timothy was deeply cherished by his stepson, Mark NeCamp, who considered him the only father he ever knew. Despite Timothy’s service as a combat veteran, the VA has declined to cover the costs of his cremation, offering assistance only for a burial in New Mexico. However, Timothy’s final wish was to avoid being buried in New Mexico, a state he feared passing away in. His greatest hope was to have his ashes spread at sea, united with those of his soulmate, Mark’s mother.

Nichole Thomas, Mark’s girlfriend, has organized a fundraiser to help fulfill Timothy’s wishes. The goal is to raise $1,750 to cover the costs of cremation in New Mexico and to transport Timothy’s ashes to Tennessee, where they can be honored according to his wishes. As of now, $50 has been raised through the generosity of a single donor, Wendy Thomas.
