Tina Marie Steffen, 59, of Silverton, OR, passed away on September 23, 2023, surrounded by her beloved friends and children. Tina was known for her vibrant spirit and passion for life, leaving a profound impact on all who knew her. Her passing has left a deep void in the hearts of her family and the community.
Born on March 5, 1965, Tina spent her life embracing the outdoors, where she found joy riding horses and exploring nature. Her energy and enthusiasm were evident from an early age, as she pursued cheerleading, dancing, and performing in high school theater. In 1986, she married Shane Steffen and later welcomed two sons, Zachary and Christopher. Her life took a challenging turn when, in 1994, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer during her pregnancy. Despite the immense difficulty, Tina chose to carry her daughter, Stephanie, to term, and miraculously went into remission by her daughter’s first birthday.
Her strength and resilience continued to shine through as she pursued her love for the arts, captivating audiences in local theater productions. Tina enjoyed life’s adventures, including camping, snowmobiling, and exploring caves in Central Oregon. In 2016, she faced another battle with cancer, this time with breast cancer. Though she briefly experienced remission, the cancer returned in 2022, metastasizing and marking her final challenge.
Tina’s passing has left her family facing unexpected expenses. To honor her memory, a fundraiser organized by Stephanie Black has been set up to help with final expenses. Contributions will assist in supporting her services and the celebration of her remarkable life. The family invites all who knew and loved Tina to attend her memorial service, which will be announced soon.
Tina’s memory will forever live on through her children, Zachary, Christopher, and Stephanie, as well as the countless friends whose lives she touched.
