Tomohnd Newkirk, St. Petersburg, FL— Tomohnd Newkirk, just 15 years old, passed away on December 18th, 2024, leaving his family and friends devastated. Known for his love of music, football, humor, and his infectious smile, Tomohnd was a freshman at Pinellas Park High School. He was also an active player for the Northeast Bandits football team and participated in several 7-on-7 football teams. His vibrant, free-spirited nature touched everyone around him.
Tragically, Tomohnd’s life was cut short when he was shot by someone he trusted, and although the responsible individual is now in custody, the pain remains immeasurable for his family. His parents, siblings, and extended family are left heartbroken by his loss. Tomohnd’s mother is now facing the immense emotional and financial burden of her son’s untimely passing. In light of this, a GoFundMe campaign has been started by Lauren Ichegbo to assist with funeral expenses, relocation costs, and to support Tomohnd’s mother during this incredibly difficult time.
The community has rallied together, with initial donations pouring in, including contributions from Stacey Poppell and Katie Hamm. The family is deeply grateful for the support and kindness shown as they navigate through this unimaginable tragedy.
We send our heartfelt prayers to Tomohnd’s family and friends, hoping that they find strength and solace in this difficult time.
