Umar Abdullah Tobias Taitt—With heavy hearts, the community mourns the passing of Umar Abdullah Tobias Taitt, who returned to Allah on Monday, 16th September 2024. His passing leaves a deep void, not only for his family but for the entire Chiswick W4 community, where he had made lasting contributions through his service and dedication to Islam.

Brother Umar was a visionary, known for pioneering the ‘Dawah table’ initiative in the early 1990s and playing a pivotal role in the establishment of the Chiswick W4 Jumuah prayers, which have been ongoing for more than a decade. His commitment to the community and to spreading the message of Islam touched the lives of countless people.

In memory of Brother Umar, a fundraiser has been organized by Waseem Riaz to assist with funeral expenses and provide support to his family. The fundraiser aims to raise £10,000, but as of now, there are no contributions yet. The community is encouraged to contribute, no matter the amount, to ease the burden on his grieving family during this difficult time.
