Wanda Elizabeth Snell (nee Lewis), Corpus Christi, TX—Wanda Elizabeth Snell passed away on November 1, 2024, at the age of 77, after her battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on January 9, 1947, in Liberty, Texas, and is remembered for her loving spirit and dedication to her family. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Snell, and several family members, leaving behind her son, Derrick Conway Snell; daughters, Lea Snell Williams and Allison Elizabeth Cantrell; and her grandchildren.
In light of this loss, a GoFundMe account has been established by Donna Pflughaupt to help cover the costs of Wanda’s memorial and cremation, with a goal of $5,000. As of now, no funds have been raised. The family faces significant financial strain, especially after caring for Wanda over the past 18 months.
Friends and community members have shared their condolences on social media. Bridget Reese Cassidy expressed her sorrow, saying, "RIP Ms. Wanda Lewis Snell. You will be missed." Emily Taylor added, "So sorry to hear this news. Praying for the family during a difficult time." Additionally, Suzanne Ashley Minks reflected, "Now she’s walking the streets of Heaven with Mr. Bill."
Wanda retired after 30 years of dedicated service at Comanche Construction Company. A memorial dinner will be held in her honor on January 11, 2025, in the Livingston, Texas area. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Guardian Funeral Home & Cremation in Corpus Christi.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Snell family during this challenging time.
