Despite the challenges, he managed to build a family of his own, one that he cherished above all.

His blunt honesty, matched by his deep affection for his loved ones, made him a memorable figure in the lives of all who knew him. He was especially fond of his family’s younger members, sharing his hobby of drawing and laughter with them. His love for retro cartoons, Westerns, and action films was well-known, often falling asleep in front of the TV while enjoying his favorite shows.
Tragically, after the loss of his wife in 2012, William’s mental health declined, and he struggled with alcoholism in the years leading up to his passing on Sunday, October 20th, 2024. His daughter remained by his side until the end, as he fought to stay with his family. He was 62 years old.
Now, his family is left grappling with both the emotional toll of his loss and the financial strain of arranging a final farewell. With no life insurance or savings to cover funeral costs, William’s family is urgently seeking support to afford an extra-large casket, grave plot services, and necessary arrangements for his viewing and funeral.
The fundraiser organized by B. Byrd on behalf of the family seeks help to provide William with the dignity he deserves in death. Every donation, no matter how small, will go towards honoring his life and memory.
