Zach Malott, Ruidoso, NM — Zach Malott passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to his community. A devoted Baptist minister and mental health counselor, Zach was deeply involved in the lives of those in Ruidoso and the Mescalero Reservation, where he served as Associate Pastor at Ruidoso Downs First Baptist Church and senior pastor at Mescalero Baptist Mission.
In addition to his pastoral work, Zach was also a mental health counselor at a local rehab center and later opened a private counseling practice. His greatest passion was helping others, whether through pastoring, counseling, or his work as a Deputy Sheriff in Lincoln County. Zach’s life was one of profound service, and his sudden passing has left his family and the community heartbroken.
His wife of 36 years, Rhonda Wall Malott, has set up a fundraiser to help cover the costs of his memorial and monthly bills, as she navigates the challenges of applying for survivor’s benefits. The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $5,000 to support the family during this difficult time.
Zach’s life of service and dedication will be sorely missed, but his impact on the community will continue to be felt for years to come.
We extend our deepest condolences to Rhonda and the Malott family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
