The accident occurred around 10:37 p.m. and involved his maroon 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer, which lost control and overturned, ultimately leading to his untimely passing. At the time, Mr. Zalenski was not wearing a safety belt, and the vehicle’s airbags did not deploy.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Careless driving has been identified as a factor, though it remains unclear if intoxication played a role.
