Zoey Suyun He, Honolulu, HI—The Honolulu community is grieving the tragic loss of Zoey Suyun He, who passed away just days before her 26th birthday. Zoey, born on August 13, 1998, was known for her kindness, infectious smile, and the deep connections she built throughout her life. Her unexpected passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone who knew her.
Zoey’s life was marked by her dedication to her education and career. She attended McKinley High School, Kapiolani Community College, and The University of Hawai
i at Manoa, where she cultivated lifelong friendships. Zoey later worked in various sectors, including retail, the State of Hawai`i, and hospitality, where she exemplified generosity and the "local style" in everything she did.
A fundraiser has been organized by Courtney Yamamoto to help support Zoey’s family and honor her memory. The funds will go toward a Celebration of Life and memorial ceremony, as well as supporting her beloved dog, Miki. The family is also seeking justice for Zoey and plans to use the funds to support the upcoming legal process. As of today, $350 has been raised out of the $100,000 goal, with contributions from Britney Ong, Kari Nakano, and an anonymous donor.
Zoey’s passing is a tremendous loss to the community. Her warmth, generosity, and spirit will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
We extend our deepest condolences to the He family during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and may Zoey’s memory bring comfort to all who loved her.
