April Wright Sheppard, Dedicated Friend and Co-worker, Passes Away After Battling Critical Illness in Mayodan, NC
April Wright Sheppard, a loyal and dedicated member of the Triad Freightliner / Velocity Truck Centers team, passed away on March 24th, 2026, after a courageous 21-day battle with severe health complications. April was hospitalized on March 3rd after experiencing excruciating pain, leading to emergency surgery for a life-threatening condition. Despite her best efforts and the love and support of family and friends, she succumbed to her illness in the early hours of March 24th, surrounded by loved ones.
April was known for her unwavering dedication to both her job and her family. She had been a beloved co-worker for 23 years, always going above and beyond for others, whether it was offering a listening ear or providing support during difficult times. Her absence has left a significant void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Her passing has deeply affected those who were close to her. Enola Murray, a long-time friend, shared on social media, “April never knew a stranger and always tried to help anyone she could. She will be missed by so many.”
A GoFundMe campaign was set up to help cover funeral expenses and provide financial assistance to April’s family during this difficult time. April’s family continues to ask for prayers as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
