Carmen Marietta Broom, remembered as a beloved family matriarch, has passed away after a severe stroke that began on Mother’s Day 2026.
Lincoln Berry III created a May 22, 2026 fundraiser titled “Honoring Carmen Marietta Broom” to help cover funeral costs and support Carmen’s granddaughter.
The fundraiser showed $840 raised toward a $9K goal, with 14 donations and 0% complete at the time of the post.
Family members described Carmen as a source of joy, laughter, kindness, strength, and steady love for immediate and extended family.
The post said Carmen had cared for a granddaughter after losing an oldest son several years ago, and that youngest son Chad Alexander Broom is helping organize estate matters.
