Dr Tyler Newton, Respected Equine Veterinarian and Founder of Tumalo Ridge, Remembered for a Life of Compassion and Service in Central Oregon
Dr Tyler Newton passed away on February 1, 2026, leaving the veterinary and equine communities grieving the loss of a dedicated clinician, mentor, and friend.
Graduating from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr Newton trained at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in Solvang, California, before continuing their career in Oregon with Bend Equine Medical Center and later co-founding Tumalo Ridge Equine.
Community members described the loss online as “heartbreaking” and spoke of an “indescribable void,” remembering a professional who combined technical excellence with genuine kindness.
Friends and colleagues also reflected on Dr Newton’s devotion to family life in Tumalo and the joy found in supporting their three daughters while working the family hay farm.
A fundraising effort began in the community to support the family, showing how deeply Dr Newton touched those around them.
Memorial service details will be announced later, as loved ones continue to honor a legacy built on care, humility, and service.
