Hopkinsville Resident Joe Taylor, 55, Remembered After Tuesday Motorcycle Crash On South Virginia Street
Joe Taylor, 55, of Hopkinsville, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, after a motorcycle crash on South Virginia Street.
Taylor rode northbound around 11:55 a.m. when the motorcycle collided with a tree-trimming truck turning from Means Avenue onto South Virginia Street.
Hopkinsville Fire Department and Hopkinsville EMS responded quickly, and Captain Payton Rogers confirmed that responders performed CPR at the scene.
Paramedics took Taylor to Jennie Stuart Health, where the medical team tried to arrange helicopter transport before Taylor passed away.
The Christian County Coroner’s Office released Taylor’s name after notifying family, and Hopkinsville Police continue to review the circumstances.
Friends, neighbors, and loved ones now remember Taylor with respect while the community offers condolences and support, and memorial and funeral service details will be announced later by family.
