John L. Erdos Remembered After Interstate 180 Crash Near Montoursville On Friday Evening
John L. Erdos, 42, was remembered across Lycoming County after a Friday evening crash on Interstate 180 just east of Montoursville.
Authorities said Erdos stepped out to retrieve an item from the roadway and was struck.
Emergency responders took Erdos to UPMC Williamsport, where doctors provided surgical care through the night for internal bleeding and multiple traumatic injuries.
Despite those efforts, Erdos passed away at 8:12 p.m. during surgery, according to the information shared in the May 31, 2026 report.
The Lycoming County Coroner confirmed the cause as multiple traumatic injuries and ruled the case a tragic accident.
Family, friends, neighbors, and community members offered condolences as loved ones remembered Erdos for a steady life beyond the roadside incident.
