Joseph Jody Ray Clardy Jr., 56, Remembered After Friday Morning Highway 413 Crash In Anderson County, South Carolina
Joseph Jody Ray Clardy Jr., a 56-year-old Anderson resident and former Medshore Ambulance Service paramedic, died early Friday morning, May 15, 2026, after a crash on Highway 413 in Anderson County, South Carolina.
Clardy rode a 2018 Harley-Davidson toward Belton when a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 turned left onto Haynie Drive and crossed the motorcycle’s path.
Rock Springs Fire Department, Medshore Ambulance Service, Anderson County EMS, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said Clardy died at the scene from multiple traumatic injuries and ruled the crash an accident.
Authorities identified Nelson Daniel Cooley as the Silverado driver and charged Cooley with felony DUI resulting in death as the South Carolina Highway Patrol continues its investigation.
Clardy’s years in emergency medical service left a lasting mark on colleagues, neighbors, and the Anderson community.
