Katelyn Hunsaker, Beloved Mother and Partner, Passes Away Peacefully After Battling Rare Lung Condition in Payson, UT

Katelyn Hunsaker passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at home in Payson, Utah, surrounded by loved ones after a prolonged and courageous health struggle.

Katelyn was admitted to the hospital on February 13, 2026, where doctors identified a serious blood clot and critically low oxygen levels, leading to an extended stay in intensive care.

During 28 days of treatment, medical teams diagnosed a rare lung condition known as PVOD, alongside a lifelong illness, Scleroderma, both of which severely affected breathing.

Despite hopes for advanced treatment, Katelyn returned home and spent nearly four meaningful weeks with family, embracing every moment with strength and grace.

Family members and friends described Katelyn as deeply loved, with one supporter sharing, “Anyone who knew Katelyn loved her,” reflecting the strong community bond surrounding her life.

Katelyn leaves behind a devoted partner, David, and a young child, Remington, who now face life ahead while honoring cherished memories.

A fundraiser has been created to support the family with medical expenses and future needs, as the community continues to rally in remembrance and care.

Details regarding memorial services will be announced by family members in the coming days.
