Richard was born to James and Margaret Monahan in Orange County, New York, on January 21, 1975, and graduated from Redlands High School in 1993.
Richard shared life with spouse Stefanie, child Makayla Rose Monahan, parent Margaret Monahan, and siblings Bernie Moxley, Meg Day, and Phil Monahan.
Richard worked at Cal Mesa Steel from 2000 until 2026 and became deeply valued for steady leadership, daily commitment, and care for others.
Richard and Stefanie married on June 28, 2003, later lived in Yucaipa, and welcomed Makayla on May 22, 2021, at Redlands Community Hospital.
A May 23, 2026 fundraiser organized by Stefanie Sorgiovanni had raised $3,125 toward a $5.5K goal through 16 donations for funeral costs and Makayla’s future college fund.
