Shawn A. Williams, 49, Remembered As Danville Officials Continue Review After Discovery At North Walnut Street Demolition Site
Shawn A. Williams, a 49-year-old Danville resident, was found deceased during demolition work at 128 N. Walnut Street in downtown Danville, Illinois.
Workers made the discovery shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the former Studio 25 site, which had closed and later entered a city-approved removal plan.
The Vermilion County Coroner’s Office confirmed Williams’ identity after recovery from the location.
Officials said Williams may have been at the site for an extended period before the demolition crew found them.
The properties at 124 and 128 North Walnut Street had received approval for demolition through the city’s Public Works Committee months earlier as part of redevelopment plans.
As of May 23, 2026, officials had not released a final finding, and autopsy results remained pending.
Loved ones are expected to announce obituary and memorial service details at a later time.
