Vivian Bertolino, Beloved Resident of American Canyon, Tragically Dies in Napa County Collision

Vivian Bertolino, 65, of American Canyon, California, tragically lost their life in a fatal multi-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon, March 28, 2026, on Silverado Trail, east of Yountville in Napa County.

The collision involved three vehicles and claimed the lives of three individuals. Alongside Vivian, Linda Wolters, 62, of American Canyon, and Katrina Clarke, 65, of Sacramento, also perished in the crash.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Bertolino and Wolters were passengers in a Mitsubishi sedan driven by 68-year-old William Dene Brumley of Vallejo, who is suspected of driving under the influence at the time. The vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a northbound BMW SUV before colliding head-on with a Toyota sedan carrying Clarke.

Bertolino and Wolters were pronounced dead—one at the scene, the other at Queen of the Valley Hospital. Clarke later succumbed to her injuries at Kaiser Vacaville Hospital. Brumley was treated for injuries and is currently in custody, facing charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the tragic crash.

The news has left the community in mourning, as Bertolino was known for their kindness and presence in American Canyon. Friends and family are awaiting details regarding memorial services.
